Continuing
our bicycle ride along the towpath, we made our way towards the next locks of
St. Martin. The towpath became a little rocky; and at one point, there was a
detour along a field of vineyards. We didn’t mind though, because the scenery
was lovely.
As we neared the locks, however, Leonard got a flat tire and had to
push his bike about a quarter-mile.
The St. Martin Locks and pickup point for Linda |
Linda volunteered to wait with the bike and
board the boat at the locks; our boat would be coming along in about an hour.

Leonard and I decided to keep going by bicycle and meet up with the group at
the town of Trebes, the day’s final destination. We waited with Linda for a while under the shade of some trees and then continued on our way. Other bicyclists had gathered here for an afternoon nap and lunch break.
