A Lock Keeper’s Fanciful Art

Biking the towpath gave us a chance to linger at the locks, watch other boats come and go, and check out some of the goods sold by lock keepers. Lock keepers frequently sell fruit, ice cream, and drinks. A recent trend includes art pieces created by the lock keepers that are either for sale, or on display for the enjoyment of others. At the L’Aiguille Locks, we found numerous pieces created from left-over parts like radiators, pipes, an engine manifold, ball bearings, a camshaft, and chain. There seems to be no end to this lock keeper’s creativity, take a look:
